Crankshaft Failure - a remedy from 1964?
#11
Some have used Belleville washers. The engineers may assemble the crank/bearing/flywheel,measure the gap and machine a spacer to the exact thickness.
Using self aligning bearings, certainly initially makes for a smooth running engine.
NKE are not a cheap bearing,Packaged in Austria, manufactured ?.So are many Top bearings manufactured around the world,In fact I believe NKE own RHP.(I work part time in a bearing and seals firm and I'm sure the last RHP's I booked in came in an NKE box).

That's how I do it.
Since I'm aiming to fit the lighter flywheel I'll be doing it again soon. Must also check the flywheel runout with the crank, prior to balancing.
