The Nippys and I suspect Speedys used seperate stainless hinge segments over 5/16" brass and steel Rods, the side hinges were formed directly from the bonnet material with 1/4" steel rods, as I stated above earlier cars had the hinge segments made from Nickel silver but to the same dimensions. The material used is 22g, each segment is 2" long, the width including the return is 13/16", if you need any further help I will do my best to explain.
