All Alloy Cup progress
Looking very nice & neat! Not sure that I would bother with the additional complication of fitting a brake-light switch to the handbrake. I use the footbrake & handbrake together most of the time, but the footbrake is used a bit more of course because the left hand is needed for steering & gear-changing; the handbrake is hardly ever used by itself.

Just about finished the wiring looms for the car so had a
a change today and fettled the control gear at either
end of the steering column.

Used a new steering box housing and new Control Tubes
from David Cochrane. I replated the control levers myself
A few months ago and was pleased to get the central horn button
Working. It’s probably not “peeped “ for 60 years!

Thanks guys... which way does the control
quadrant orientate? With levers horizontal?
Ignition  to NS?

Get ready for loads of answers, Bill!!

I've always set mine with ignition to the off side and the levers, set horizontally, passing through the words gas and ignition rather than how they are in your photo.

I agree that the levers should cover the words Gas and Ignition (so that the lever operates between O(pen) and S(hut) for gas, and A(dvance) and R(etard) for ignition), but I've always had the levers with ignition on the left and gas on the right, so that each lever is moved towards the front of the car to Advance and Open... each to his own!

Thanks for the helpful info on the quadrant
arrangement.

Thanks for the tips

Now I just need to figure out the bottom linkages
As I’ve opted to use an SU on a Ruby manifold,
Plus an Accuspark distributor( which I hope to link
To the Advance Retard quadrant control lever.( perhaps cosmetic?)
I’ve got a distributor clamp plate so may need to get some rod
and fabricate the end fittings.

Any photos of these linkages of a similar set up would be appreciated.
