Photo in private message - Scarlet O'Hara - 06-02-2023

Hi all, is it possible to attach a photo to a private message sent from the forum?

RE: Photo in private message - Ian Wegg - 06-02-2023

I've just tried it. There doesn't appear to be a method for attaching a photo in the same way as you can in a forum post. However, it looks as if you can embed any picture from another site using BBcode - i.e. enclosing the URL of the image between IMG tags.

If the PM I sent you has a picture in it then it works!

Thanks Ian,picture received so it works.

I will go with that. All you need is the .jpg link of the photo

and cut & paste it between [img] and [/img] (without spaces of course).

So if the link address is: (for example) https://i.postimg.cc/QtVDR2qm/IMG-20180801-WA0002.jpg
when you stick it between [img] and [/img] you get this:-

Presumably that only works for images which are hosted somewhere on the web, so no use if you want to send a pic of something you did in the garage this morning (unless you upload it somewhere first).

Yep. You have to upload it to a server. I use www.postimages.org
