Ebat seller Shrive Cars - Nigel was in Brittany - 11-12-2017

Are they for real or do they think A7 owners have got money to burn ,recently listed on Ebay , Box o/s window regulator £ 500 , box door lock (with chain ) £100 , door trim £100 etc.

RE: Ebat seller Shrive Cars - Hugh Barnes - 11-12-2017

I once listed a pair of control arms from a box saloon - the ones that go at the bottom of the steering column for hand throttle and advance retard mechanism. They made £115.... #standsbackinamazement..

I guess with Ebay, you just never know what some people are prepared to pay..

And yes, I did feel a little guilty as reproduction ones were available for about 15 quid IIRC... but I had started them at 99p no reserve..

Tony must be chuffed with some of his low start, high final bids.
What can anyone do with that Chummy floorpan, a lot of money for a pattern albeit an accurate one

I do love it when these things are brought up on the forum.

Austin 7 people are always austin 7 people.

They can always pick up on something they "feel" is over priced.

But never pick up on something like the 1923 to 1927 radiator that sold for £49.00 ONLY.

I suppose supply & demand comes into it, but ...... Perhaps no-one was looking!

Tony how can it be overpriced, you didn't put a price on It!
The rad is not as valuable as the shell as you know, and probably why it went for the price it did, also too short for that all important Ulster rep?

RE: Ebat seller Shrive Cars - Ian Williams - 11-12-2017

Old radiator cores are usually not in great condition, even if they appear sound they are often clogged and corroded inside. I was told by an old school radiator man that the worst thing you can do with an old core is store it dry, deposits blocking the waterways set hard and with air getting at it corrosion is increased.

RE: Ebat seller Shrive Cars - Tony Betts - 11-12-2017

Hi gene,

I didn't say it was over priced.

The point is austin 7 people on the forum never point out the cheap items on eBay.

Tony.
