Replacement instrument faces. - Dave Mann - 18-03-2020 I think it was on this forum I came across a website with replacement instrument faces that could be printed off, can I find it now! Anybody any clues? RE: Replacement instrument faces. - Jamie - 18-03-2020 These? https://austinsevenfriends.co.uk/Bruce_White_Pages/Gauges.html Jamie. RE: Replacement instrument faces. - Dave Mann - 19-03-2020 That's it, thanks a lot Jamie. RE: Replacement instrument faces. - Peter Clayton - 19-03-2020 Been looking for this myself, Thanks Dave for enquiring (should have myself) and to Jamie for doing the footwork. RE: Replacement instrument faces. - Martin Prior - 19-03-2020 On a related note, can anyone advise on how to safely remove the needle of a PA speedo? Not hopeful about what we'll find inside - It's been sitting in water for rather a long time! RE: Replacement instrument faces. - Mike Costigan - 19-03-2020 The needle is just a push-fit on the spindle, so in theory it just needs prising off ... famous last words! RE: Replacement instrument faces. - David Stepney - 19-03-2020 Martin. You may find it looks a bit like the Antikythera Mechanism inside when you finally tease it apart. Good Luck! RE: Replacement instrument faces. - Robert Foreman - 19-03-2020 Martin, if it doesn't JUST prize off, then you need a needle puller. You can either make one or they are available commercially. Hope this is of help. RE: Replacement instrument faces. - Jamie - 20-03-2020 On the speedometer which I have just refurbished, I held the metal disc which the magnets drag aound and gently twisted the needle back and forth, pulling at the same time. It came of fairly easily. Admittedly, mine was a later model and yours may not have the disc to grip. Jamie. RE: Replacement instrument faces. - Douglas Alderson - 20-03-2020 Martin I used a tack removal tool to remove the needle and a bit of cloth to protect the face. http://www.da7c.co.uk/technical_torque_articles/pa_speedo_rebuild%202.html |
