Ruby indicator switch - Tiger - 14-10-2019

Hi
How does the Ruby ARR indicator switch dismantle.
Trying carefully leverage under the edge but don’t want to damage the bakerlite.

Hi Tim,

Loosen the clamp at the bottom end of the steering column (where the cable emerges) and then slide the whole unit and inner tube upwards. You may need to undo the cable connections if there is insufficient slack in the cable. From then on follow this: http://www.austinsevenfriends.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=1373&highlight=horn

The horn push and indicator switch assembly is attached to a 3 foot long hollow "stator tube" that goes all the way down inside the steering column. The wiring runs down inside this tube.  The tube emerges just below the steering box.  To get it out, disconnect the 4 -core cable under the bonnet, then release the pinch bolt around the tube on the steering box.  The whole tube and switch can then be pulled up into the car.  Only then can the switch be inspected/cleaned/repaired.
