Does anyone know of a source for 4mm carbon pick up brushes for magnetos?
Or failing that somewhere where I could purchase some 4mm carbon rod to machine some up?

I don't have a mag myself and I'm struggling a bit to visualise what they are like. But it occurs to me that the brush in a DK4 distributor cap is about 5mm diameter, could that perhaps be adapted? Fairly readily available.

It would be best to know which make and model of mag you are talking about. I have some BT-H spares and may find a brush.
