He had shakey hands even when he was doing the coachlines! the extremely long bristles on the brush absorbed the shake so the end result was fine.

May be of interest. I have a vast stock of " stick on" coachlines, as used to customise 1970's cars. All colours, thin/thick lines, doubles /trebles. I will put an "Ad" in sales and wants.

I believe the brush with extra long bristles is called a rigger. In one of the Austin works films there is a few seconds devoted to the sign writer applying the fine lines in which he completes most of the side of Seven.
