There are ferries to Corsica from Toulon, which is doable from here in the day in the RP. I did here to Nice in the day when I did the Col de la Bonnette. It's certainly a goer. I just have to convince the Mem'Sahib that its a good idea. Her vision of a long run is an outing with the old car club that does a 50km round trip, and it would have to be either early or late in the season because she's an aircon afficionada...

Yes, and from Italy too; Savona overnight is fun but the shortest and cheapest is from Livorno - but that’s a fair stretch down the Italian coast.
